Carrying Her Flame Forward
The Ifeyinwa Akpuogwu Foundation was born from love, love that persists beyond loss, and that insists on action.

Our Mission
To advance the rights, dignity, and wellbeing of women and girls in Nigeria, especially those who face systemic barriers to education, autonomy, and opportunity.

The Ifeyinwa Akpuogwu Scholars Programme
Our flagship initiative awards scholarships to two female students from the Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State currently in their penultimate year at any Nigerian Federal Public university.
Continuing a Legacy of Empowerment
As part of our inaugural activities, we are proud to extend financial support to three women entrepreneurs from our local community—women whose paths and aspirations we know personally. This initiative is a continuation of the quiet, steadfast support our mother offered throughout her life: reaching out, uplifting, and nurturing others in ways both seen and unseen.
In doing this, we centre our message on the impact: providing meaningful assistance that enables these women to sustain and grow their small businesses, echoing our mother's belief that even modest support, given with care and intention, can change lives.
This is only the beginning of a tradition we hope to carry forward—one act of encouragement at a time.
Voices of Impact
Hear from the women whose lives have been touched by the Ifeyinwa Akpuogwu Foundation Empowerment Fund
Mrs. Nwachukwu Ngozi Juliet
Lagos State
“I run a small retail business selling perishable items like seasonal fruits, bananas, groundnuts, and apples. Due to rising costs and spoilage risks, I expanded to non-perishables like rice and beans, and started selling ice blocks from a small freezer that could only produce six pieces daily.“
“As demand grew with customers selling out daily and even paying in advance, I realized I needed to expand. Many complained the quantity was too little. I needed ₦200,000 for a reliable larger freezer, but the price was discouraging.“
“Receiving the Ifeyinwa Akpuogwu Foundation Empowerment Fund was truly life-changing. I was honestly left speechless and overwhelmed by God's grace.“
“Everyone who knew Mama spoke of her kindness, but I was privileged to know her more personally. She was like a big sister, mentor, and confidant to me. Losing her was painful, but seeing her daughters carry on her legacy of love, generosity, and light brings great comfort to my heart.“
Mrs. Uche Akuchie

“I run a small retail business from a kiosk beside my home, selling everyday food items like tin tomatoes, groundnut oil, red oil, salt, and more. When I fell ill, I had to spend the little I had on medications and feeding my family.“
“After I recovered, I tried to get help from my church, but it didn't work out. I even considered borrowing from a loan app, though a friend warned me strongly against it. At that point, I felt lost. I turned to God in prayer, asking for a way forward.“
“Not long after, a representative from the foundation came to visit me. That money was my answered prayer. I cried when I heard about the initiative because the timing was just perfect.“
“Ify was like the sister I never had. She was always there for me, ready to help in any way she could. She would give her last card and go without, just to make sure someone else could smile. She was a rare kind of person—full of love, compassion, and light.“
“I'm deeply grateful to her family for continuing her legacy in such a meaningful way.“

Our Commitment to Sustainability
At the heart of the Ifeyinwa Akpuogwu Foundation lies a commitment not only to support but also to sow seeds of continuous giving. We believe that true impact is sustainable impact—an echo that carries across lives, generations, and communities.
Every girl, every woman, every scholar, every entrepreneur touched by our work is encouraged to commit to paying it forward. In small ways and grand ways, we ask each beneficiary to reach back, lift another, and keep the chain of hope and empowerment alive.
This is how we honour Ifeyinwa's spirit—by ensuring that the kindness she embodied never remains still, but moves outward, expanding in love, resilience, and renewed purpose.
When one life rises, many more rise with it.
In Loving Memory
